Beverage Pusher and Slide Shelf Management Systems

Cans and bottles that stay at the front of the cooler

Concept P.O.S. supplies beverage pusher and slide systems that work as a pair: a pusher designed for flat shelves and a gravity slide built for angled ones. Both keep cans and single-serve bottles aligned, visible and within reach, so every cooler shelf shows a full front row between restocks.

DRINKS AT THE FRONT

Bottles return to the front

ORGANIZED SHELVES

One lane per product

LESS REFACING

Less manual straightening

ALWAYS FRONT-FACING

Each time a shopper takes a can or a bottle, the next one moves up to the front retainer. The front of the lane stays filled.

CLEAR FRONT RETAINERS

A low, transparent front retainer holds the lead item without hiding its label, so brands and flavours read at a glance.

TIME SAVED

Staff stop pulling bottles forward by hand and spend that time restocking and serving customers instead.

ONE LANE PER PRODUCT

Side walls keep flavours and formats apart, so mixed rows and tipped bottles become the exception.

SIZED TO YOUR SHELVES

Modular sets with break-off sections adjust to the width and depth of most cooler and gondola shelves.

THE TWO SYSTEMS

Better Shelf Organization With Beverage Pushers and Slides

Beverages are among the most frequently handled products in a store. A shopper opens the cooler door, takes a cold can or a bottle of water and moves on, often in a few seconds. Each purchase leaves a gap at the front of the lane, and on a deep shelf the next bottle sits several inches back, out of the light and harder to read through the glass. A cooler can look half empty long before it actually is.

Beverage pusher and slide shelf management systems close that gap automatically. On a flat shelf, an integrated pusher advances the next container to a clear front retainer. On an angled shelf, a low-profile slide lets gravity do the same work. Either way, each product keeps its own lane, the front row stays complete and the label faces the shopper.

Concept P.O.S. designs custom shelf management systems for every type of product and distributes this beverage solution for coolers, cold vaults and gondola shelving. Our team matches lane width to your containers and each set to your shelf dimensions, so these display pushers fit the space you already have.

MORE VISIBILITY
LESS MAINTENANCE
CLEANER SHELVES

Why Beverage Displays Can Be Difficult to Maintain

Beverage merchandising combines several difficulties at once. Most containers are round, so they roll, twist and tip as soon as a row loosens. Formats vary widely inside the same cooler, from slim cans to one-litre bottles, and each brand offers many look-alike flavours behind fogged glass. Store traffic peaks at lunch and after work, and the coldest products end up at the back of deep shelves, where few shoppers reach.

Coolers add their own constraints: limited height between shelves, doors that open many times an hour, condensation, angled shelves in some units and flat shelves in others. A display system that ignores these details soon ends up removed or left half full.

Keep Products Front-Facing

When the front bottle leaves, the lane should not stay empty. Pushers and gravity slides bring the next unit up to the front retainer, so the label faces the door and the cooler keeps a full, legible front row between restocks.

Reduce Mixed Rows

Without lanes, a cola ends up among the lemon sodas and a 20 oz bottle wedges itself between cans. Side walls give each product a defined path and make a misplaced item obvious, so the planogram holds through the busiest hours.

Improve Shelf Maintenance

Pulling bottles forward by hand, standing tipped units back up and digging for the last cold drink take time on every shift. Once products return to the front on their own, maintenance comes down to restocking, a task that is quicker to plan and easier to check.

Shelf Pusher Systems for Beverages on Flat Shelves

Black beverage pusher loaded with water bottles on a flat shelf

The beverage pusher is built for flat shelves, in a reach-in cooler as well as on ambient gondola shelving. Every lane comes with its pusher already installed: when a shopper takes the front bottle, the next one advances to the clear front retainer. High side walls guide each container in a straight line and keep tall bottles from leaning into the next lane.

Lane width follows the container. Standard sets come in four formats:

  • 11 lanes: slim cans and 8 oz aluminium bottles;
  • 10 lanes: 12 and 16 oz cans and bottles;
  • 8 lanes: 20 oz cans and bottles;
  • 6 lanes: 28 oz, 1 L, 32 oz and 40 oz bottles.

Each set is assembled from five-, three-, two- or one-lane modules joined by pins, so the configuration follows the width of your shelf.

Depth adjusts just as easily. Break-off sections shorten the set to roughly 13 to 20 in, depending on the format, and the back panel is repositioned to match. Installation goes straight from the carton to the shelf, and an internal slip agent keeps containers moving smoothly over time. These display pushers are especially useful where shelves are closely spaced and every lane has to stay productive.

Gravity Slides for Beverage Displays on Angled Shelves

Translucent beverage slide filled with single-serve bottles

Many coolers and cold vaults use angled shelves. On those, the slide does the work without the pusher built into product pusher trays: gravity brings each product to the front of its lane. The beverage slide has a low profile, with a floor only 5/16 in (8 mm) high, which leaves maximum clearance for tall bottles where the space between shelves is limited.

Each lane ends with a clear front ring that holds the lead container while leaving the brand fully visible. Tracks are modular and include break-off sections, so the sets fit most shelf sizes. Standard sets cover:

  • 10 and 12 oz cans, on 10 lanes;
  • 14 and 16 oz cans and bottles, on 10 lanes;
  • 20 oz bottles, on 9 lanes;
  • 1 L bottles, on 8 or 7 lanes depending on the bottle shape;
  • 32 oz bottles, on 7 lanes.

Made from recyclable virgin polypropylene, the slide also contains an internal slip agent for lasting performance. By keeping every product in a defined lane and moving it forward continuously, these slides reduce the hidden inventory that tends to build up at the back of the shelf, a frequent issue in walk-in coolers.

Common Display Needs for Beverage Pushers and Slides

Translucent beverage slide filled with aluminium cans

Not every beverage behaves the same way on a shelf. Container shape, diameter and height, turnover pace and the number of flavours per brand all determine the right lane width and the right system. Here are the situations we see most often.

Soft Drinks and Sparkling Beverages in Cans

Standard 355 mL cans and taller 473 mL cans fill a large part of most coolers, with many flavours per brand and frequent new releases. Ten-lane sets sized for 12 and 16 oz containers keep each flavour in its own lane, while the clear front retainer leaves the can design fully visible. Slim cans, now common for sparkling waters and some soft drinks, call for the 11-lane pusher, whose narrower lanes stop these containers from twisting.

Bottled Water

Water sells in volume, often near the entrance or the checkout, and its labels tend to look alike from one brand to the next. Lanes sized for 20 oz bottles keep rows straight and compact, while shelf dividers and label holders help shoppers tell still, sparkling and flavoured waters apart. On an angled shelf, the slide keeps the front row full even during the busiest periods.

Energy and Sports Drinks

These categories combine tall cans, slim cans and wide-mouth bottles, along with a constant flow of limited editions. A narrow, well-defined lane for each SKU protects the brand block that suppliers expect, and side walls keep tall containers upright as the row empties.

More Beverage Formats and Display Situations

Juices, Iced Teas and Ready-to-Drink Coffee

These products come in contoured or square bottles of very different heights, often up to one litre. One-litre slide sets exist in two widths, eight or seven lanes depending on the bottle shape, and the six-lane pusher accepts 28 oz to 40 oz bottles on flat shelves. Grouping these beverages by format, not by brand alone, keeps lanes consistent.

Beer, Ciders and Ready-to-Drink Cocktails

Where they are sold as single units, these beverages raise the same issues as soft drinks: many varieties, tall 473 mL cans next to standard 355 mL ones, and strong pressure on cooler space. Lanes sized for 12 and 16 oz containers keep single units at the front, while cases and boxed multipacks are better organized with shelf dividers and label holders.

Walk-In Coolers and Cold Vaults

In a walk-in cooler, staff restock from behind while shoppers serve themselves at the front. Angled shelves combined with the low-profile slide suit this layout well: products move toward the door on their own, the 8 mm floor preserves height for tall bottles, and the clear front ring keeps each label readable through the glass.

Beverage Pushers and Slides: Frequently Asked Questions

Which beverages work with these pushers and slides?

Both systems are designed for single-serve beverages. The pusher takes slim cans and 8 oz aluminium bottles, plus 12, 16, 20, 28, 32 and 40 oz or 1 L containers. The slide takes 10 to 16 oz cans and 14, 16, 20 or 32 oz and 1 L bottles. In practice, that covers waters, soft drinks, energy and sports drinks, juices, iced teas, ready-to-drink coffees and, where they are sold individually, beers and ciders.

Should I choose the pusher or the slide?

It depends on the shelf. On a flat shelf, in a reach-in cooler or on gondola shelving, the pusher is the right choice: its integrated mechanism advances each container to the front retainer. On an angled shelf, typical of walk-in coolers and cold vaults, the slide relies on gravity and its 8 mm (5/16 in) floor preserves usable height. Many stores use both. A photo of your shelves and their measurements are enough for our team to confirm the right system.

How do the sets adapt to my shelves?

Both systems are modular. Pusher sets are assembled from five-, three-, two- or one-lane modules joined by pins, and break-off sections shorten them to a depth of roughly 13 to 20 in, depending on the format, with a repositionable back panel. Slide tracks are also modular and include break-off sections to fit most shelf sizes. Lane width is chosen according to the diameter of your containers, which is why we ask for it along with your shelf width and depth.

Which products are not a fit?

These systems are designed for single-serve containers up to one litre, or 40 oz on the pusher. Two-litre bottles, cases and boxed multipacks fall outside their range: our beverage shelf management page presents other solutions for these formats. Large jugs, for their part, are organized with shelf dividers and label holders rather than pushed. Our team will tell you plainly if a product does not suit the system.

How do I get a quote?

Send us your shelf width and depth, your product names and container diameters, the number of products side by side, and a photo or planogram of the section. With that information, our team determines the right system, pusher or slide, then the lane width and configuration to plan. You can also use the form on this page or call us at 1 (888) 422-0605.

Shelf Dividers, Front Retainers and Label Holders for Cleaner Beverage Categories

A beverage display works as a set of components that complete one another: one advances the product, another defines the lane, a third holds the lead container, and the shelf edge carries the price. When one is missing, the others lose part of their effect.

Shelf Dividers for Cleaner Beverage Categories

The side walls of each lane act as built-in shelf dividers. They separate products by brand, flavour, size or format, keep tall bottles from leaning, and make it immediately clear where each SKU belongs during restocking.

Front Retainers That Keep Labels Visible

On the pusher, a low clear lens holds the front container; on the slide, a clear front ring plays the same role. Both stop the product at the edge without hiding its label, so the brand remains the first thing shoppers see when they open the door.

Label Holders for Pricing and Product Information

Label holders mounted at the shelf edge display price, format and promotions right under the matching lane. Combined with defined lanes, they help shoppers compare formats quickly and help staff check that each product sits behind the right price.

Display Rack Solutions for Promotions and Featured Brands

Custom-configured display pushers also earn their place outside the regular cooler layout: a new flavour, a seasonal beverage, a featured brand or a dedicated zone near the checkout. Sets with different lane widths can be combined within one section to build a clearly identified display without disrupting the rest of the cooler.

Designed for Different Retail Environments

Beverage pushers and slides belong wherever single-serve drinks are sold cold. Convenience stores and gas station stores rely on them in coolers where every lane has to sell. Grocery stores and supermarkets use them in checkout coolers, drink aisles and walk-in cold vaults, while micro-markets count on them to keep self-serve coolers tidy without staff on site.

Pharmacies, cafeterias, specialty food shops and any retailer with a beverage cooler find the same benefit. These retail display systems are not tied to any particular store type: what determines the fit is the shelf, flat or angled, and the size of the containers.

Benefits of Beverage Pusher and Slide Shelf Management Systems

The gains show up on two fronts: what shoppers see when they open the cooler door, and what your team no longer has to do on every shift.

Better Product Visibility

A can or bottle held at the front presents its brand and flavour through the glass, without shoppers having to lean in or reach to the back. On a deep cooler shelf, that can make the difference between a drink that sells and one forgotten behind the row.

Cleaner Shelf Presentation

Defined lanes, upright containers and a front line closed by clear retainers give the whole cooler an even, orderly look. The fixtures stay discreet, so the packaging, not the equipment, draws the eye.

Less Time Spent Refacing

Pulling drinks forward by hand becomes the exception. The time recovered goes to restocking, cleaning the cooler and serving customers, tasks that cannot be automated.

Easier Category Navigation

When each flavour and format holds a dedicated lane, shoppers find their drink in seconds, even with the door open and a line behind them. Mixed rows, which force people to search, become rare.

Custom Solutions for Different Product Formats

Lane width, number of lanes, set depth, flat or angled shelf: these variables combine to suit a slim can as readily as a one-litre bottle. The display pushers adjust to your beverages and shelves, not the other way around.
